Important Note: The new GPS Module 2.0 (6551X) & Telemetry Expander 2.0 (TRA6550X) replace the original Telemetry Expander (TRA6550) and GPS Module (TRA6551). The originals are not compatible with the new 2.0 versions.
Real-Time SpeedStandard telemetry sensors use your vehicle’s gear ratio and tire size to calculate speed based on RPM. This system works well for hard surfaces, but wheelspin on loose surfaces causes inaccurate speed readings. The Telemetry Expander 2.0 with the installed GPS Module 2.0 provides the most accurate speed data possible. The Traxxas GPS Module 2.0 uses both GPS and GLONASS global positioning to deliver precise, real-time speed information via the Traxxas Link App on your TQi Radio System with Traxxas Link Wireless Module.
The GPS Module 2.0 installs easily inside the waterproof Telemetry Expander Module 2.0 (TRA6550X, sold separately). The Traxxas Link App automatically recognizes the sensor with no other programming or setup required! Once the GPS module is installed, the speedometer reverts to GPS speed instead of estimating the MPH based on gearing and motor RPM. Nothing needs to be reset; just select your preferred gauge and start receiving accurate speed data through the Traxxas Link App.

X-Maxx, E-Revo, and Unlimited Desert RacerInstall the Telemetry Expander 2.0 and GPS Module for even more accurate speed measurements compared to the built in speed output from the VXL-6S and VXL-8S electronic speed controls. Plus, add the ability to install additional sensors to monitor parameters such as motor temperature. The Telemetry Expander connects directly to the VXL-6S or VXL-8S electronic speed control using the new Traxxas Data Link Cable TRA6566 (sold separately). Using the TRA6566 cable is a plug-and-play solution that conveniently eliminates the need to open the waterproof receiver box to add additional cables.
Vehicles equipped with the TRA6590 High Voltage power amplifierThe TRA6590 High Voltage Power supply is used for lighting accessories such as the TRA8485 off-road lighting set for the Unlimited Desert Racer. The TRA6550X Telemetry Expander can be conveniently connected directly to the TRA6590 high voltage power amplifier using the new TRA6565 Data Link Cable (sold separately). This provides a quick and easy plug-and-play connection without having to open the waterproof receiver box to add additional cables.
